A support group for those affected by the LA fires/climate tragedy to share their experiences and engage in reflective artmaking.

WHAT

A six-week support group for those navigating grief and complicated emotions after the recent LA wildfires and climate tragedies

TIME

75-minute evening sessions; on Thursdays from 5:15PM - 6:30PM PT | 7:15PM - 8:30PM CT | 8:15PM - 9:30PM ET

GROUP GOALS

Experience companionship in your grief journey and engage in mindful and reflective artmaking

WEEK 1

Sharing Our Stories

  • What has brought you to this group?
  • How have the LA fires/climate tragedies impacted you/your story?

WEEK 2

Riding the Waves of Grief/Complicated Emotions

  • How may grief and other emotions be showing up physically, mentally, and emotionally?
  • How have you and others been responding to it?

WEEK 3

Honoring What Was Lost

  • What are tangible and intangible losses you’ve experienced?
  • What would you like to honor and/or acknowledge?

WEEK 4

Seeking Safety/Acknowledging What We Can and Can’t Control

  • What are you grieving that you may have little control over?
  • What are you choosing to do within the things you can control?

WEEK 5

Finding Your Path Forward

  • How do these recent events make sense to you within the story of your life?
  • As you move forward, do you find yourself focusing on a kind of action or direction?

WEEK 6

Hope & Community

  • What moments have you experienced (in or out of the group) that have inspired hope or helped you feel a sense of community?
  • Acknowledging the ongoing grief journey
  • Acknowledging support systems & hopes

THIS GROUP IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF...

  • You are AANHPI identifying
  • You an adult 18+
  • You would like a safe space to reflect on your thoughts and emotions regarding the recent LA fires and climate tragedies
  • You would like to connect with others

THIS GROUP IS NOT RIGHT FOR YOU IF...

  • You are actively self-harming in ways that require medical attention
  • You are experiencing suicidal ideation and require a higher level of care than a support group offers

A therapeutic support group for individuals affected by the recent LA fires and climate-related tragedies. This space invites participants to process their grief and experiences through guided reflection and expressive art making. No prior art experience is necessary—just a willingness to show up and share.

This group is offered at no cost, made possible through a partnership with Asian Mental Health Collective.

Due to funding limitations and our mission to provide culturally responsive support, priority will be given to individuals who identify as Asian American, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander (AANHPI) and who have been directly impacted by the LA fires.
