Hi there. My name is Angela. I am glad to meet you. You are safe here.

It is okay to feel overwhelmed or to feel anxious more days than not. It is okay to feel down or blue. It is okay not to enjoy the things you used to do or to feel lonely even when you are around friends and family. You can recognize you are not happy, and you are not getting what you want out of life. You know you are not meeting your own needs. You are not alone. I help individuals of all ages who are struggling with anxiety and depression.

If you connect with some of these sentiments, you may be struggling with anxiety or depression. I pursued a career in therapy because I struggled with my own anxiety, depression, and emotional burnout. I want to help people who are experiencing the same things I went through. I want to help you find your center and your balance, and I want to show you that you are enough as you are. No matter the challenges you are facing, you are worthy of healing and you are deserving of happiness. I am here to support you and facilitate your healing journey.

Together, we will find the tools and resources necessary to help you achieve your goals. We will improve how you react in stressful situations, communicate in relationships, and find balance in your life. We will also do the uncomfortable work of identifying patterns and roles that are not what you need, so you will be able to grow and heal. I enjoy working with clients who want more, so if you are ready to create change, I am here to be your supporter and your guide.

Therapy for Highly Sensitive Person & Creatives

You feel so much. All the time. You are constantly bombarded with emotions. You feel everything intensely – from the good emotions to the bad. Sometimes you are unsure if you are feeling your feelings, or you are taking in the feelings of others around you. You are constantly overthinking, and overstimulated. You may feel it is exhausting to even leave your own home. It can be overwhelming, confusing, and draining. It can feel like there is no way out, and the constant noise of the emotions within you and surrounding you are distracting, deafening, or even paralyzing.

I can help you. Therapy with me can be a supportive experience, where we can increase your sense of awareness of your internal and external world. Together we can work to identify your feelings and work to develop a toolbox of skills to process and regulate them. We will work to separate your emotions from the emotions of others and the atmosphere around you.

You will begin to understand that being an HSP/Empath is a beautiful gift if used correctly and understood. Therapy can help you find support, validation, and acceptance, as well as provide a safe space to process and learn about your big feelings. Therapy can teach you how to identify your stressors and manage your emotions. You will learn how to use your sensitivities as a superpower, and approach others’ emotions from a regulated place with boundaries and practiced coping mechanisms. HSP and Empaths make excellent connections with others and are wonderful partners and friends.

Therapy for Pregnancy and Postpartum

Being pregnant is a wondrous experience, but that doesn’t mean that every moment of it is beautiful and joyous. In fact, many women find themselves with mixed emotions about being pregnant and especially about the postpartum period once their baby is born. Feeling nervous, anxious, sad, or even frustrated, angry, or depressed are all common and are emotions that you can and should work through with a professional. By working together, we can unravel the different emotions that you are experiencing and why so that you can better understand yourself, your pregnancy, and your new role as a parent.

These emotions, when experienced in the short-term and at moderate to low intensity, are entirely normal, and it’s natural for you to move between them during the pregnancy and postpartum period. We can work through helping you understand where these feelings come from and what they do (and don’t) mean for you as a parent. Also, if you find yourself experiencing these emotions long-term or with high intensity, we can work together to uncover why you are experiencing these things and to work toward healthy and safe coping skills to deal with the negative emotions that are interfering with your enjoyment of this period.

Asian and Asian American Therapy

You feel as though you are living in two different cultures. You are trying in school, at work, and out in the world to be American and to adapt to western life. However, at home, you feel the pressure to remember and abide by your family’s Asian cultural norms. Bicultural identity can feel like a weight in all social circumstances, even if you are proud of your identity. This is a difficult path to navigate, especially if there is intergenerational trauma, language barriers, family expectations, or immigration histories.

As a second-generation Vietnamese American, I understand you and see you. My parents are immigrants, and I have spent my life trying to walk the fine line of balancing two sets of cultural values. My parents sacrificed so much in their lives for me, and in turn, I spent my childhood and teenage years pressuring myself to make that sacrifice worth something. Shouldering familial and societal expectations can be exhausting.

I have found my path, and I can help you find a balance that works for you. We will work together to help you identify your most authentic self and how your two cultures can make sense in your life. During this process, we will define and set boundaries in different aspects of your life, both familial and cultural. We will create a life that helps you become the most centered, happiest version of yourself in every part of your life.

Therapy for Individuals and Families with Neurodiversity

Being neurodiverse means that you see and process the world in different ways than others do, and that is okay. You deserve to have your strengths and uniqueness appreciated. However, our neurotypical society often does not appreciate these differences. You may be ashamed or embarrassed for functioning differently than other people, or you may feel like something is wrong with you. The pressure of trying to hide your ADHD or Autism can be stressful and exhausting. I know that you are trying to meet others’ expectations, and even when others may not see it, I want you to know that I see you. And I want to help you find your happiness.

We can work together to create a path forward that appreciates the uniqueness of your brain and your approach to life. We will be curious about your strengths and use them to make sense of the world you live in. We will process what it has been like growing up neurodiverse in your family context, and we will learn how to make your brain work for you. You can appreciate your neurodiverse brain and be happy, and I can help guide you to the life you want to have.

I am also passionate about helping children and families who are struggling with neurodiversity challenges. Your child may be experiencing challenges in school or with their peers. Every family experiences these challenges, but having a neurodiverse child can add another layer to the family dynamic. It can be stressful helping your child navigate society, and the different stages of life can bring new questions and new obstacles for the family. I can help navigate these difficult times. I have worked with children and families struggling to adapt to neurodiverse needs like ADHD and Autism. Oftentimes, validation of the challenges you have been facing can be the first step to finding healthy coping skills and solutions. I will provide a safe space for your family to work on finding a path that helps your child live their happiest life.

Working with me provides a safe, supportive space for your growth.

Through my own experience as a therapy client, I know what it is like to be on both sides, and I am passionate about helping others who are experiencing what I have been through. My greatest strengths as a therapist and coach are my curiosity and compassion for my clients. I care about your experiences and want to help you live the life you want with the support and care you need.

Working with me can help you identify your strengths and desires. My priority is to facilitate not only a safe space, but also a brave space where you can process your thoughts, feelings, and past painful experiences. I will help you identify and prioritize your goals, let go of things that do not serve you and find a greater sense of stability and happiness. I want to walk with you every step of the way, celebrating your victories and providing non-judgmental company during your moments of discomfort.

I use a holistic approach that focuses on you as an individual. We will explore your thought and behavioral patterns that make you stuck, explore where the patterns are coming from, learn about the interpersonal roles you play in your family, work, friends, and process painful feelings or experiences you have been having trouble letting go of. We will gain insights on the core beliefs you have about yourself that impact how you feel, think, act, learn new thought patterns, communication strategies, and a toolbox of coping skills. We will look at how past experiences persist in your daily lives, and then learn to accept them and let them go. I have many tools in my therapy box– a combination of mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, EMDR trauma therapy, and more to facilitate this process.

I understand how intimidating it can be to seek help. My commitment is to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be. Please reach out, and together we can embark on your journey of growth.
