Hi! My name is Lauren Garcia and I’m glad you are here.

Working with me means starting where you are.

You know you want something more and something better for your life. You’re just not sure what that ‘better’ is or how to get it. Luckily, there is help out there for you. All you need to do is reach out to it. And that’s where I come in.

I am here to help you. Here to listen to your stressors and everything that’s happening in your life and help you navigate and find a path forward, to the life that you want to live. One that you will be happy to live.

Therapy for Anxiety, Stress, and Burnout

You have made it. You have finished school, landed the job, the apartment, or the house. Everyone has congratulated you, and your success deserves to be recognized. You have put so much effort into everything you have accomplished. On the outside, you are living “the dream” of everything you have been working hard for.

Inside is a different story. You often feel overwhelmed. You know you value family, friends, education, and work, but these things don’t bring you joy any longer. You might feel unhappy at work, have lost interest in your daily hobbies or activities, or spend time with family and friends. Your sense of self in the world has turned worthless or hopeless. You might feel as if you do not deserve anyone’s love, help, or time. You don’t know how you got here when everything seems to be going so well. But you know that you need help.

If you relate to these feelings, you may be experiencing anxiety, stress, or burnout. It is often tough to speak to others including your most trusted friends and family about these issues. The biggest challenge is to be able to comfortably share your thoughts with someone. Seeking out a trusted therapist can be a healthy step forward towards solving these issues.

Together we can build a relationship built on trust. You may feel guilty, scared, or uncomfortable reaching out, but I can provide a safe space for you to share your feelings and stories. A therapist is someone who cares about you and will be an empathetic listener. I can reflect things to you other people might not.

I want to empower you to understand your thoughts and feelings. Working through your negative behavioral and thought patterns, we will identify how these currently affect your life. I will help you find solutions within yourself that you feel comfortable practicing and sustaining, using your natural strengths. Together we will discover what more positive and healthy coping skills feel more natural to you. We will build these new thought processes and behavior patterns to help you cope with life’s challenges.

Therapy for Children, Teens, and Young Adults

Watching your child grow up is an incredible and rewarding journey as a parent. You have never been happier than when your child learns, grows, and succeeds. You have also never been more upset when your child struggles. Lately, you have noticed your child or teen is struggling more than usual. It might be school stressors, social stressors, or problems you cannot find the cause of because they won’t communicate with you. As a parent, this is very stressful and painful.

Building a trusted relationship with a children’s therapist can be a step towards helping your child. As a therapist for children and teens, I can help your child face their current challenges. From depression, anxiety, school, social phobias, friendship building, low self-esteem, and more, children can face many serious challenges and need help developing coping skills.

In therapy, I create a safe and comfortable space for your child. I invite your child to have the courage to share any thoughts that they might not feel comfortable sharing with family. Together we will begin to identify their emotions, feelings, and strengths, as well as the challenges they are currently facing. I will help guide them to break negative behavior patterns, and focus on using their strengths to build positive, foundational coping tools they can use for the rest of their lives.

Therapy for Trauma and PTSD

Many people feel that they are ‘not enough’ or that they are somehow ‘lacking’ but that’s not the case at all. Your trauma may be holding you back, but there is a path forward for you if you’re ready to take it. I am here to help you take that first step down the path and then continue onward until you’re truly ready for anything you want in your life.

You have experienced something truly debilitating in your life, that has thrown you entirely off the course of what you wanted for your future. It may have been trauma in your childhood or in your adult life. It may have been sexual or physical in nature or it may have been related to your religious background or other aspects of your past.

Through therapy, we will explore the trauma that you have experienced and the experiences, emotions, and feelings that you continue to experience as a result. We will develop strong and healthy coping mechanisms for new experiences that trigger the past, as well as work through the foundation of your trauma.

Therapy with Me

I became a therapist because I wanted to be a part of the helping profession. Witnessing family and friends’ histories of mental health and watching their daily struggles inspired me to help. As a therapist, I am easy-going, relaxed, and compassionate. I provide a non-judgmental space for you to begin to self-reflect and build self-awareness. Together we will embark on a fun, eye-opening, and exciting journey to understand and find the right path for yourself. Previous clients have described me as empathetic and calm and have helped them become more grounded.

I want to empower you to find solutions for yourself that you feel comfortable practicing.

I can provide a flexible approach in a warm, non-directive, safe space to help you discover this. When we identify your strengths, we will focus on them. Our work will help boost your self-esteem, develop a healthy relationship with yourself and others, and develop healthy thought processes at your own pace.
