No matter what you are struggling with, or the confusion you may be facing, I am here to help.

I can support you. Together, we can discover the medicine within you. We will tap into the wisdom of your body. You are your own teacher and healer. However, I can help by being a listener, friend, and guide to the direction of your true north and inner self.

Therapy for Highly Sensitive Person/Empath
You feel so much. All the time. You are constantly bombarded with emotions. You feel everything intensely – from the good emotions to the bad. Sometimes you are unsure if you are feeling your feelings, or you are taking in the feelings of others around you. You are constantly overthinking, and overstimulated. You may feel it is exhausting to even leave your own home.
It can be overwhelming, confusing, and draining. It can feel like there is no way out, and the constant noise of the emotions within you and surrounding you is distracting, deafening, or even paralyzing.
I can help you. Therapy with me can be a supportive experience, where we can increase your sense of awareness of your internal and external world. Together we can work to identify your feelings and work to develop a toolbox of skills to process and regulate them. We will work to separate your emotions from the emotions of others and the atmosphere around you.
You will begin to understand that being an HSP/Empath is a beautiful gift if used correctly and understood. Therapy can help you find support, validation, and acceptance, as well as provide a safe space to process and learn about your big feelings. Therapy can teach you how to identify your stressors and manage your emotions. You will learn how to use your sensitivities as a superpower, and approach others’ emotions from a regulated place with boundaries and practiced coping mechanisms. HSP and Empaths make excellent connections with others and are wonderful partners and friends.
Therapy for LGBTQIA+ Individuals
You struggle to feel like you fit in. You know that you are different from others, whether you present yourself differently to the outside world or not. It can be hard to feel valued in a society where your identity is marginalized, and considered abnormal or atypical. You may feel pressure from the community you were raised in to be a certain way, and that you don’t fit into their expectations.
It can not only be difficult to accept your sexual identity, but it can be even more challenging to accept the responses of those around you. This can bring up feelings of anxiety, depression, sadness, anger, and confusion. It can also lead to harmful behaviors, thoughts, or feelings.
You are not alone. Do not suffer in silence. It is never too late, and no problem is ever too insurmountable to seek help. As a queer femme myself, I have personal experience in this arena. I too have faced adversity balancing my dual identities as a queer female and my childhood and cultural identity in the Asian American community. I understand what it is like to try to navigate who you feel you are inside and find your place in the outside world. Therapy will provide a safe space for you to explore your true self. Together we will discuss and learn coping skills, tools, and new behavior patterns that help you live your life confidently as the person that you truly are.
Therapy for Trauma
Traumatic events can be extremely challenging to come to terms with and can have effects or even run our lives for years after they happen. Our traumas spin stories in our heads. They tell us that we aren’t good enough to start our healing work, or that we need to be “better”, worthy, or more perfect before we begin. Then when we begin the work, they often create false narratives such as the work isn’t good enough, change isn’t happening fast enough, or we aren’t processing deep enough. I want to help you dispel these baseless fears and thoughts. I want to help you access joy and pleasure whilst living in the present, and beginning the process of healing.
Now, more than ever, there has been an increase in dialogue around trauma. It is exciting to see trauma being normalized as part of the human experience and to see many people reaching for healing. However, sometimes this can feel overwhelming or increase pressure. I believe in therapy, the work unfolds gently over time, in a series of discoveries and a journey of development. The medicine we seek is inside of us and already complete. Therapy is simply the vehicle we can use for change; just a vessel that brings us closer to ourselves.
Many of my clients identify as survivors or victims. I use a trauma-informed approach to our work together to create a space that prioritizes autonomy for my client and collaboration. I have lived through trauma and can bring a deeper level of understanding through my experiences to clients with marginalized identities. I have experience working in the anti-violence movement, with survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, and grief therapy. I understand that trauma can be extremely challenging to deal with, as well as a very personalized experience. I want to help co-create a safe space where you can begin to process your trauma and work towards deeper healing in therapy and life.
Therapy with Me
I have always wanted to live a life of service, however, I wasn’t always a therapist. I started my journey towards becoming a therapist by investing in my healing. As I pursued my therapy, I found an avenue to pursue my passion for helping others through therapeutic work. As a clinical social worker, I feel personally committed to helping others heal, as well as working to transform the social and economic conditions that lead to cycles of trauma.
I have found that tapping into healing within ourselves as individuals can reach far across generations, healing decades or even generations of trauma and wounds. This dedication to healing can leave a lasting impact on our lives and our relationships.
I practice therapy with an emphasis on playfulness, curiosity, and patience in my sessions. I seek to hold a non-judgmental space in the therapy room to allow for comfortability and self-exploration in any form. I allow my clients to bring in their current struggles or emotions from the week and try to relate that to the other themes they have previously mentioned. I encourage a collaborative and relational environment, using a trauma-informed lens to gently approach difficult topics.
I use my training in cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, however, I primarily focus on embodiment and holistic whole-person healing. I believe strongly in the mind-body connection, and love to work and collaborate with individuals who believe the same. I find that the therapeutic process moves at a different pace when clients commit to continuing their work outside the sessions.
I believe that therapy is an extremely individualized and personal process. I truly don’t believe I have the answers you are seeking. However, I believe I can hold space and be a guide that leads, encourages, and supports you on your journey inward. On this journey, you will discover your truths through a balance between the head and the heart. I believe that you are capable of finding the solutions within the wisdom you already have. I do not see you as broken or in need of help or fixing. I see you as reaching for healing and receptive to a new perspective.
Therapy with me will look like a slow dive rather than a series of breakthroughs. I value new understandings, however, I believe part of the healing is accessing joy and pleasure while living in the present. However, above all, I want to be a support system for you leaning into your own goals, on your terms. Please do not hesitate to reach out, I cannot wait to get to know you.
