Your story makes sense.
My path to becoming a therapist began with a simple question: Why do we do the things we do?
As I started recognizing patterns in my own life, I became curious by the ways our experiences shape how we think, feel, and connect with others. That curiosity led me to study psychology, begin my own therapy, and eventually research intergenerational trauma within Southeast Asian American communities. Along the way, I discovered something that continues to guide my work today:
People make sense in the context of their experiences.
I believe many of the patterns that leave us feeling stuck once served a purpose. When we begin to understand those patterns with curiosity instead of self-judgment, we create space for meaningful change.
Working With Me
I’m naturally curious and enjoy helping people look beyond the surface to understand the experiences that have shaped them. You might hear me ask, “Where do you think that comes from?” or “What would that younger part of you need?” These conversations aren’t about staying stuck in the past—they’re about helping you better understand yourself so you can move forward with greater intention.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in CBT, TF-CBT, Attachment Theory, DBT, Strengths-Based, and mindfulness. I tailor therapy to your unique strengths, experiences, and goals because I believe there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to healing.
While therapy can involve difficult conversations, I also believe there’s room for humor, lighthearted moments, and the occasional dad joke.
Therapy for Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety and depression can make everyday life feel overwhelming. You may find yourself overthinking, feeling emotionally exhausted, withdrawing from the people you care about, or wondering why it’s so difficult to do things that once felt easy. Sometimes these feelings seem to come out of nowhere, while other times they’ve been building quietly for years.
My work with children, teens, and adults has shown me that anxiety and depression often have a story behind them. Together, we’ll explore both practical strategies to help you manage your symptoms and the experiences or patterns that may be contributing to them. My goal is to help you find relief while building a deeper understanding of yourself so that change feels sustainable—not temporary.
Therapy for Burnout
Burnout can leave you feeling emotionally drained, disconnected, and questioning whether you can keep up with the demands placed on you. You may feel like you’re constantly pushing through exhaustion, struggling to find motivation, or wondering why you’re no longer able to function the way you used to.
Through my work with college students and young adults, I’ve supported many individuals navigating academic pressure, career uncertainty, perfectionism, and the constant expectation to “keep going.” Together, we’ll explore the factors contributing to your burnout, reconnect with what matters most to you, and develop healthier ways of caring for yourself without sacrificing your goals or well-being.
Therapy for Trauma and Family Patterns
Sometimes the ways we’ve learned to survive difficult experiences continue long after they’re needed. You may notice yourself struggling to trust others, feeling responsible for everyone around you, avoiding difficult emotions, or repeating patterns you don’t fully understand. These responses often make sense when we consider the experiences that shaped them.
My graduate research focused on intergenerational trauma within Southeast Asian American communities, and that perspective continues to inform my work with clients from all backgrounds. Together, we’ll explore how your past experiences, family relationships, and cultural influences have shaped your present, helping you move forward with greater self-compassion and intention.
Therapy for Relationships & Identity
Relationships have a way of bringing our deepest hopes, fears, and patterns to the surface. Whether you’re navigating family conflict, romantic relationships, friendships, or questions about your identity, it can be difficult to understand why certain dynamics keep repeating themselves.
I enjoy helping clients connect the dots between their past and present relationships, strengthening communication, boundaries, and self-understanding along the way. My attachment-informed approach encourages us to explore how your experiences have shaped the way you connect with others while creating space for healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Therapy for Culture and Identity
As a Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Chinese American therapist, I understand how culture, family, and community shape the way we see ourselves and relate to others. I especially identify with my Vietnamese and Chinese heritage and appreciate both the strengths and challenges that can come with navigating multiple cultural identities. I strive to create a space where every part of your story feels welcomed with curiosity, respect, and compassion.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. We’ll figure it out together.
