Hi, I’m Mandy. You don’t have to suffer alone.

Life brings inevitable suffering, yet perhaps the most painful experiences are those we go through in isolation. Whether you feel lonely, anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in familiar patterns, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. As your therapist, my goal is to come alongside you as we make sense of the complexity of who you are and the experiences that have shaped you.

I hold a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Biola University. Above all, I believe the most important thing I can offer is a presence where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. Through our therapeutic relationship, we can gently make sense of what has felt stuck or painful and move toward greater self understanding, healing, and wholeness.

Working With Me

My therapeutic space is built on the premise that life is not about avoiding suffering, but a journey of discovering how to suffer more effectively. This looks like learning to feel our emotions more fully, becoming more connected to ourselves, understanding our needs, and living in a way more congruent with who we are. As humans, we are wired to connect; yet many of our deepest wounds are shaped within relationships, and it is often through relationships that we can find a deep source of healing.

Grounded in the psychodynamic perspective, my approach is warm, collaborative, and emotion-focused. In therapy, we slow down and become curious about your unconscious patterns, emotional defenses, and capacity to love and receive love. These dynamics often surface as depression, anxiety, insecure attachment, relationship difficulties, and patterns you can’t seem to break free from. Our time together offers a safe and contained space to bring these into awareness, notice familiar ways of relating, and begin to experience them differently.

I believe the therapeutic relationship itself serves as a window for the ways you relate to others and yourself. As we work together, we may notice familiar patterns emerging between us and gently explore what they might be communicating about your inner world. Therapy can sometimes bring discomfort before relief, as we approach experiences that are difficult to understand or articulate. I encourage you to share any feelings that come up about our relationship, as these often contain aspects of your early experiences and offer a safe space to gently rework them. I am here to walk alongside you collaboratively, welcoming regular feedback so we can remain attentive to what feels helpful or difficult to ensure you are getting the most out of therapy.

Therapy for Complex Trauma & PTSD

Unlike single-incident trauma, complex trauma stems from repeated experiences of emotional neglect, invalidation, or abuse often rooted in early attachment relationships. It can manifest as insecure attachment, rejection sensitivity, people-pleasing, codependency, feeling disconnected from oneself, or a pervasive sense of loneliness.

I help you slow down and process these deep-seated wounds safely. We focus on grounding, emotional regulation, and utilizing our therapeutic relationship to gently rework the impact of early painful experiences and develop a greater sense of agency and security.

Therapy for Grief and Loss

Grief extends far beyond bereavement—it encompasses our necessary losses. You may be grieving what you never had: a sense of home, an attuned caregiver, the safety you deserved growing up, an elusive longing, a time you can never go back to, or a relationship that never became what you hoped it would be.

Grieving these unfulfilled wishes and lost expectations is essential to breaking free from perpetual emotional pain. Together, we can safely process the underlying needs, helping you relinquish past longing so you can step fully into present healing.

Therapy for Spirituality and Faith

Faith and spirituality can be profound sources of meaning, strength, and guidance. Whether you want to integrate your beliefs into therapy or navigate complex spiritual questions, I honor what is meaningful to you.

Having experience in cross-cultural mission work and church planting overseas, I deeply understand the unique challenges people face in ministry. I also support Christians navigating sexuality who often suffer in silence. My goal is not to rush you toward any immediate theological resolution, but to sit with you in the liminal space of making sense of your experience. I care deeply about spiritual formation and am committed to my own ongoing growth, as I believe the self of the therapist plays an instrumental role through which safety, depth, and healing are created.

Therapy for Minors, Parents, and Families

Aside from depth-oriented psychodynamic therapy, I have gained training and experience working with underserved children, adolescents, and families in the community mental health setting. Whether supporting a child with behavioral and mood disturbances, a teen with screen addiction, an emerging young adult navigating identity and purpose, or parents seeking to repair a strained relationship, I welcome the privilege of partnering with your family.

Given younger clients are at distinct developmental stages where traditional insight-oriented therapy may not be the most effective starting point, I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs. I flexibly integrate evidence-based modalities such as Bowenian Family Systems, play therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), CBT, and ACT to help build practical skills, improve communication, and restore connection.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As a 1.25-generation Chinese immigrant who moved to the U.S. in late adolescence, my personal journey as a Third Culture Kid (TCK) deeply informs how I sit with clients across diverse backgrounds. I don’t view culture as a set of boxes to fit into, but rather approach your lived experience with genuine respect and cultural humility. I speak fluent Mandarin and Cantonese alongside English, and I welcome working across diverse cultural and belief systems.

There’s a Space for You

You don’t need to arrive with all the answers or the right words. Therapy begins simply by giving yourself a quiet space to slow down and be present. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you work toward healing and build a life you genuinely want.

(Complex Trauma & PTSD)
(Grief & Loss)
(Spirituality & Faith)
(Minors, Parents & Families)
