Therapy With Me
So much of what we feel is a response to the world we live in—a world that can be incredibly demanding and restrictive. As a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed therapist, I help you work through the painful experiences that have brought you to where you are today, so you can move forward. We’ll work to address feelings of shame and gently remind you that you are worthy of self-compassion.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process where your voice is central. Together, we’ll explore how the world around you has shaped your experiences and uncover the root causes of your struggles. I provide psychoeducation alongside to equip you with knowledge and a skill set. In our sessions, you will find a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be yourself and recognize how both big and small aspects of the world around you have impacted your life. My goal is to help you restore trust in yourself and enrich relationships with your loved ones.
In the beautiful words of Ram Dass, “we are all just walking each other home.” I am honored to be a part of your path back to your whole self.
Adolescent Issues
I help adolescents build their confidence so they can make choices they are proud of. Parental expectations, peer pressure, and societal norms can feel overwhelming, making it hard to listen to your own voice. I understand how tough this age can be, and I’m here to help you develop skills to trust yourself. We’ll work to explore what feels true to you—not just what others expect of you.
I’ve worked closely with children and teens to build the tools and language they need to express their inner world. We’ll build your sense of self-worth so that you can face challenges with resilience. My approach is about helping you create a life that feels authentic and aligned with your values, allowing you to feel proud of the choices you make.
Highly Sensitive Persons/Empaths
Thoughts like “I’m too sensitive” or “why do things seem to bother me so much?” are common for highly sensitive people and empaths. You may feel overwhelmed by the pain and suffering around you, struggling with feelings of helplessness, depression, or anxiety. I help highly sensitive individuals find balance and calm within themselves. Together, we’ll work to navigate these intense emotions, so you can feel more grounded, empowered, and at ease. I will support you in recognizing your strengths as well as identifying the barriers that may be keeping you from pursuing authentic choices and relationships. Through our work, you will learn to set healthy boundaries that honor your sensitivity and show up fully in the relationships that matter most to you.
Burnout & Perfectionism
Do you find yourself constantly striving for the next milestone, feeling as though your worth lies in your achievements? Burnout and perfectionism often create a cycle of self-judgment and criticism, leading to deep feelings of shame. Society conditions us to believe that our value must be earned—through productivity, success, or meeting impossible standards. But this belief is simply not true, and it’s time to let go of it.
Many of my clients carry the heavy burden of trying to please everyone around them, often at the expense of their own mental, emotional, and physical well-being. They are harshly critical of themselves, always fixating on perceived shortcomings and feeling as though they are never “good enough.” This relentless self-criticism drives them to continually “improve” themselves, even when it doesn’t align with their desires or values, leaving them exhausted and disconnected from their true selves.
I help clients replace self-judgment with self-compassion. Through my humanistic and existential approach, we will address both the everyday and bigger picture aspects of your life, and I will work with you on treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding you would offer a dear friend—especially one in pain.
Life Adjustments & Transitions
The transitions we face—whether it’s the death of a loved one, a career pivot, the end of a relationship, or simply evolving into a new version of ourselves—can be distressing, disorienting, and even terrifying. You might find yourself feeling uncertain about what comes next or struggling to let go of what once felt stable.
In our sessions, you’ll find a warm and compassionate environment where we can process the changes you’re experiencing at your own pace. We’ll examine which components of your life are worth holding onto and what you may need to release in order to move forward. You are stronger and more resilient than you may realize, and I am here to help you tap into that strength—so that each transition becomes an opportunity for a deeper connection to your authentic self.
Support for Parents
I have worked with many parents to help them reconnect with their children by first giving themselves more grace and compassion. As a parent, you are not only guiding someone else’s journey but also navigating your own for the first time, and that can be incredibly difficult. In our sessions, I provide a space for you to be your whole self—a space where you can openly share the struggles of trying to parent while facing your own life challenges. We will identify and release coping mechanisms that once protected you, but no longer serve your relationship with your child.
The transitions that come with each stage of your child’s development—whether it’s the shift from childhood to adolescence or the constant changes in your relationship as they grow—can leave you questioning your ability to connect. It’s easy to feel stuck in a cycle of misunderstanding, leaving you feeling unappreciated and unsure of how to bridge the generational gap. We’ll work to break the cycle of rejection and move toward a place of mutual respect and empathy. My goal is to help you and your child see eye-to-eye, creating a more trusting, harmonious relationship.
