Welcome! I’m Emma.
I became a therapist because I’ve always felt naturally drawn to supporting others and creating spaces where people feel heard, understood, and less alone in what they are navigating. My own experiences with counseling deepened my passion for mental health care and reinforced the importance of having a safe, nonjudgmental space to process life’s challenges. As a second-generation Vietnamese American, I understand the value of culturally responsive care and the impact of feeling seen within the context of your lived experiences and identity. I enjoy working with teens, young adults, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transitions, relationship concerns, and substance use or recovery-related challenges. Many of the clients I work with feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves, and I strive to create a warm, collaborative environment where they feel supported in exploring who they are and where they want to grow.
My clinical experience includes working in both outpatient and inpatient mental health settings providing individual, group, and family therapy for children, adolescents, families, and adults. I have experience supporting clients experiencing trauma-related concerns, co-occurring disorders, emotional dysregulation, personality disorders, and more severe mental health concerns. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and authenticity. I integrate nervous system regulation skills, attachment-based work, and IFS-informed approaches to help clients better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building tools to move toward healing and lasting change.
Working With Me
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe one of my biggest strengths as a therapist is showing up as a human first and creating a space where clients feel safe enough to be fully themselves. My clients would likely describe me as supportive, easy to talk to, encouraging, and someone who genuinely cares about their wellbeing and growth. I value building strong therapeutic relationships rooted in trust, authenticity, and connection, because I believe healing happens best when clients feel heard, respected, and understood rather than judged or “fixed.” I also try to celebrate my clients’ successes alongside them while helping them stay grounded and supported through difficult moments.
My therapy style is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and tailored to each individual’s unique experiences and needs. I integrate nervous system regulation, attachment-based work, and parts-informed approaches to help clients better understand how their experiences may be showing up emotionally, physically, and relationally. Therapy with me is a collaborative process where we work together to understand your strengths, goals, triggers, relationships, and the patterns that may be
keeping you stuck. I strive to meet clients where they are at and move at a pace that feels manageable while helping them build coping skills, insight, self-compassion, and a stronger sense of connection to themselves and others.
Therapy for Anxiety
Anxiety can feel exhausting, overwhelming, and difficult to slow down. You may find yourself overthinking, replaying conversations, worrying about the future, struggling to relax, or feeling disconnected from yourself and others. I have experience working with teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety across both outpatient and inpatient settings. Together, we can work to better understand the emotional and physical impact of anxiety while building coping skills, calming the nervous system, identifying unhelpful patterns, and developing more self-compassion so things can begin to feel more manageable over time.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
Trauma can deeply impact the way you see yourself, your relationships, and your sense of safety in the world. It may show up as emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, shame, low self-worth, people-pleasing, or feeling stuck in survival mode. My experience includes supporting survivors of abuse and working with clients experiencing trauma-related concerns in both community mental health and inpatient settings. I take a trauma-informed, collaborative approach that integrates nervous system regulation, attachment-based work, and IFS-informed approaches to help clients process experiences at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Therapy for Burnout
Burnout can feel like constantly running on empty while trying to keep up with the demands around you. You may feel emotionally drained, disconnected, irritable, unmotivated, or guilty for slowing down and prioritizing yourself. I help clients better understand the impact chronic stress has on both the mind and body while exploring the patterns and pressures contributing to burnout. You are not alone and our work can focus on building healthier coping strategies, boundaries, nervous system regulation skills, and a more balanced relationship with yourself and your responsibilities.
Therapy for Relationship Issues and Life Transitions
I also enjoy working with teens and young adults navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions, and addiction-related concerns. These experiences can feel overwhelming, isolating, and leave you feeling unsure of yourself or your next steps. Whether you are struggling with communication, boundaries, identity, self-esteem, substance use, or adjusting to changes in relationships, school, work, or family dynamics, I strive to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you feel understood. In sessions, this can look like building insight, healthier coping skills, emotional regulation, and stronger connections with yourself and others.
Let’s begin this journey of healing, growth, and self-discovery together, at
a pace that feels right for you.
