I specialize in ADHD/neurodivergency, trauma, depression, anxiety and stress management, and working with creatives and highly sensitive people.
I also have background in addressing body image issues, chronic pain, grief, and loss. Which allows me to offer a holistic approach to healing, helping clients navigate the often-overlapping aspects of mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Whether you’re looking to overcome negative thinking patterns, break free from self-destructive behaviors, or simply understand yourself better, I aim to provide the guidance and support needed to move forward with clarity and confidence.
Hi, I’m Sonia!
The healing profession has always felt like an inevitable calling for me. Mental health has profoundly shaped my life and the lives of my loved ones, sparking a deep desire within me to support others on their journey toward greater consciousness, connectedness, and authenticity.
Clients often describe me as easygoing, open-minded, and inquisitive. I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to provide psychoeducation and collaborate with them to help them determine, on their own terms, the choices they want to make to live the life they desire. I take pride in being approachable and enjoy the challenge of building rapport with those who may not open up easily. Finding common ground with individuals from different worldviews is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work. I’ve always felt connected to those who are ‘different’ or who don’t feel understood.
I’m an old soul, an empath, a thinker, and a problem solver. I’ve always been a bit of an armchair philosopher who loves to learn and engage in stimulating discussions. I value honesty, a good sense of humor—I appreciate a good rant and encourage others to express themselves authentically.
Working with Adult Children of Immigrants and Those Who Struggle with Belonging
Growing up as an Indian American and the child of immigrants, while also struggling ADHD, I have firsthand experience with the alienation and pressure of navigating multiple cultural identities. I deeply understand the feelings of not belonging and the despair, isolation, and shame that can accompany these experiences. These challenges fuel my commitment to serving individuals with a culturally responsive approach that honors the complexities of their lives, acknowledges generational traumas, and embraces the diverse facets of their identities.
My goal is to meet clients where they are, without judgment, and provide them with the tools they need to make empowered decisions, manage their emotions, and shift their perspectives. I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling to overcome trauma, self-doubt, and fear, particularly those related to cultural identity, neurodivergence, and underlying mental health challenges. I strive to help my clients recognize their inherent strengths and leave each session feeling more empowered and clear despite the challenges they face. This collaborative process ensures that they feel involved and valued in their journey.
It’s important to me that clients feel in control as we explore, question, and work through whatever arises. As we delve deeper, the root causes of dysfunction in our lives become clearer. I understand that this process can be intimidating or overwhelming, so I aim to provide a safe, relaxing space where clients can express themselves authentically at their own pace. Together, we work to discover solutions, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and find acceptance, fostering a sense of belonging and resilience along the way.
Outside of my work, I’m a music nerd who enjoys traveling, nature, wine, art photography, and collecting vintage clothes. I’m known to hyperfocus on my passions, as many with ADHD do, and those who know me best would describe me as “quirky”—a label I wholeheartedly embrace.
