Welcome! I’m Jenny Polutan.
I collaborate with adults and couples who are at a crossroads: feeling uncertain, stuck, or overwhelmed by life’s challenges. I help them navigate anxiety, depression, relationships, and life transitions through a holistic lens. My clients are ready to explore themselves, challenge old patterns, and surrender themselves to transformation, even if they don’t know exactly what that change looks like.
My Journey into Therapy
I realized during the pandemic how significant the demand for mental health support was, as isolation magnified existing mental health challenges. Witnessing the struggles of so many reinforced my passion for supporting others through therapy. It became clear to me that I wanted to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals facing emotional and mental difficulties.
Working With Me
My greatest strengths as a therapist lie in meeting clients exactly where they are, accepting them without judgment, and deeply understanding their unique experiences. I resist the urge to “fix” things and instead remain curious about each client’s personal journey. Clients would describe me as empathetic, warm, thoughtful, and collaborative. I prioritize creating a supportive and non-judgmental space, encouraging self-reflection and growth at a pace that feels right for them.
With an integrative approach combining psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), somatic work, mindfulness, and the Gottman Method for couples, I tailor therapy to meet the unique needs of each client. I guide clients in exploring core beliefs, investigating family dynamics, assessing coping strategies, and building emotional resilience.
Depression & Anxiety
Many of my clients struggle with anxiety and depression, feeling stuck in cycles of negative thoughts and overwhelming emotions. You may find yourself battling self-doubt, exhaustion, and difficulty managing stress. Perhaps life transitions, career shifts, or personal losses have left you feeling lost and uncertain.
In our work together, we will explore how these feelings impact your daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. Through evidence-based strategies, I help clients challenge negative thinking patterns, build healthier coping skills, and restore a sense of empowerment and control in their lives.
Navigating Life Transitions
Life transitions—such as career changes, relationship shifts, or major life decisions—can be overwhelming. Many of my clients feel stuck, frustrated, or uncertain about their next steps, despite their best efforts to find clarity.
Together, we will work to identify your strengths, establish actionable goals, and develop strategies that align with your values and aspirations. My goal is to support you in rediscovering your confidence and resilience, helping you move forward with clarity and purpose.
Couples & Relationships
Relationships can be both rewarding and challenging. Whether you are facing communication difficulties, trust issues, or navigating major life changes as a couple, therapy can provide a space to strengthen your connection and rebuild intimacy.
I utilize the Gottman Method to help couples improve communication, resolve conflicts effectively, and deepen emotional connection. Through therapy, couples gain practical tools to foster understanding, heal past wounds, and create a more fulfilling relationship.
Cultural Identity & Personal Growth
As a Filipina American raised in New Jersey, I understand the complexities of navigating cultural identity and personal growth. Many clients feel caught between cultural expectations and their personal desires, struggling with issues such as family dynamics, societal pressures, and self-acceptance.
I create a space for clients to explore these challenges, unpack generational narratives, and build confidence in their identity. Whether you’re working through cultural expectations, personal values, or life aspirations, therapy can provide the tools to help you align with your authentic self.
About Me
Beyond being a therapist, I find joy in reading, journaling, dancing, crafting, and visiting museums and concerts. I was raised Catholic and attended a Quaker school from kindergarten through 12th grade. I also have training in Reiki and resonate with Buddhist philosophy.
If you are looking for a therapist who provides a compassionate, collaborative, and holistic approach to healing, I would love to work with you on your journey toward growth and self-discovery.
