Hi, I’m Solji. I’m glad you are here!
Life can be filled with beautiful moments we want to cherish forever, but it can also bring
overwhelming challenges. Difficult memories can hold us back, cloud our joy, and make us lose
sight of our strengths. But I believe that deep down, we’re all stronger and wiser than we know.
Even in the toughest times, there’s a part of us that believes in better days.
Let’s walk through this journey together. I’m here to support you, offering guidance every step
of the way.
Therapy With Me
In our sessions, you’ll find a space where you can be your true, authentic self—free from
judgment. I focus on creating a safe, welcoming environment where you can express yourself
and explore your experiences openly. My approach is client-centered and adaptable, using tools
like mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT),
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT) for trauma-
related nightmares.
We’ll work together to reconnect with your strengths, develop practical coping skills, and
challenge any thoughts holding you back. Whether through psychoeducation or deeper
exploration, we’ll create a path that feels empowering and supportive for you.
How We Work Together
My approach is centered on creating a space where you can feel safe, understood, and free
from judgment. Together, we’ll work on rediscovering your strengths and finding practical ways
to help you move forward. Here are some tools we may use:
- Mindfulness: Focusing on the present moment, we’ll work on building awareness to help manage overwhelming emotions and find calm amidst the chaos.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Together, we’ll look at how your thoughts impact your emotions and behavior, and identify ways to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): We’ll practice skills to help you manage difficult emotions, improve relationships, and build a life that feels meaningful.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): By accepting your emotions and focusing on your values, we’ll find ways to live more authentically and move towards your goals.
- Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT) for trauma-related nightmares: This approach helps rewrite the narrative of distressing dreams, reducing the impact of trauma during sleep and waking hours.
- Trauma-Informed Approaches: If trauma is a part of your journey, we’ll gently explore how it has affected you, using methods to help restore a sense of safety and control.
Therapy for Anxiety, Depression, Imposter Syndrome
Do you feel overwhelmed with worry, self-doubt, or stress? Maybe you’ve noticed racing
thoughts, trouble sleeping, or a lack of motivation. These feelings can make each day more
difficult and leave you feeling disconnected from joy.
In therapy, we’ll explore your experiences and work together to find healthier ways to respond.
You’ll gain tools to help you manage these emotions and create a more balanced, fulfilling life.
Therapy for Perinatal and Postpartum Experiences
As a mother of a toddler, I deeply understand the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy,
childbirth, and motherhood. Whether it’s navigating new emotions, balancing responsibilities,
or adjusting to a new identity, we can work together to explore those feelings and find the
support you need to navigate these changes with more confidence.
Therapy for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), Asian-American Experiences, and LGBTQIA+ Affirming
Our cultural identities shape who we are, but they can also lead to experiences of
discrimination or feeling like you don’t fit in. As an immigrant and a child of immigrants, I
understand how these struggles can impact your life. Together, we’ll embrace your uniqueness,
focusing on building self-acceptance and resilience. Our differences are our strengths, and they
make us extraordinary. I also identify as a straight ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and am here
to provide affirming support.
Therapy for PTSD/Trauma
Trauma looks different for everyone, and there’s no “right” way to react to it. Life experiences,
circumstances, and past events shape how we cope with trauma. Sometimes, these factors give
us strength; other times, they make it harder to heal. Together, we’ll explore your trauma,
making sure you feel safe and supported every step of the way.
Whether you’re dealing with long-standing trauma or more recent events, we’ll work together
on healing and finding resilience. We’ll also incorporate tools like mindfulness, CBT, DBT, ACT,
and Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT) to help reduce trauma-related symptoms, including
nightmares.
I’ve completed certification programs for Clinical Trauma Professional.
Therapy for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Living with ADHD can feel like a constant juggling act—struggling to stay focused, finish tasks, or
keep organized. This can make you feel less capable, which can lead to lower self-esteem,
anxiety, and depression. It can also make decision-making feel overwhelming and increase
anxiety around completing tasks.
In our work, we’ll explore how ADHD impacts your daily life and find practical strategies to help
you feel more in control, confident, and capable.
Therapy for Grief and Pet Loss
Grief takes many forms, and the loss of a pet can be just as impactful as losing a family
member. In some cultures, such as in many Asian communities, pet loss isn’t always fully
acknowledged, despite how deeply our pets impact our lives. We can work together to process
your grief, honoring your pet’s place in your life while moving toward healing.
Therapy for Addictions and Sobriety Maintenance
Struggling with addiction can feel isolating, and maintaining sobriety is an ongoing challenge.
I’ve worked as a substance abuse therapist in an outpatient setting and have an educational
background in substance abuse counseling. Whether you’re seeking to maintain your sobriety
or navigate the complex challenges of addiction recovery, I’m here to offer support without
judgment. Together, we’ll develop coping strategies and work towards building a healthier,
more fulfilling life.
A Little Bit About Me
I’m a Korean American who immigrated at the age of 12. Growing up as the eldest child of first-
generation immigrants, and as the spouse of an active-duty military member, I’ve moved
around a lot and experienced many life transitions. These experiences have shaped my deep
empathy for others navigating similar changes.
I’m also a mother to a busy toddler and a cat lover. When I’m not in therapy sessions, I enjoy
crafting, photography, and occasionally sitting outside to people-watch on sunny days.
One of my favorite quotes is:
“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the
bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.”—Iain Thomas
I’m excited to support you in your journey and help you navigate life’s transitions with care and
understanding.
